THE MADTOWN® music city brawler
The Madtown® Music City Brawler is the latest iteration in the Gravelcaster line of instruments. Less guard and more attitude. Cleaner and meaner. Ready to roll into town and cut heads, anytime in Anytown, USA. Like the Gravelcaster, it also shares our custom neck profile and wider nut width, a 10"-16" compound fingerboard radius and 22 frets. The ultra lightweight chambered bodies keep the weight off. The custom in-house made Madtown control plates are designed to give the player more room between the switch and knob, while the Skidplate and sculpted rear body contour system provide for a much greater level of upper register fingerboard access and player comfort than has ever been offered before.
GENERAL specifications / BUILD notes
BODIES
The Music City Brawler bodies are crafted with a solid 1 or 2 piece select body and a book-matched select top. Species include Swamp Ash, Black Limba, Mahogany and others. Chambered to keep the weight of the instruments close to only 6 pounds.
NECKS
Standard necks are crafted of hard eastern maple with maple or rosewood fingerboards and fretted with Jescar nickel silver fret wire with hidden tangs. Solid 1/4" inch thick slab fingerboards have a compound 10-16" radius, with other radius offerings. Black or clay dot inlays with custom inlay work available. 25.5” scale length and Madtown's custom C profile. Measuring .812” at the first fret and .895” at the 12th. Fitted with a genuine bone nut with a width of 1.720". 22 frets and a spoke style, two-way adjustable rod. Birdseye Maple, Red Leaf Maple and other species available.
FINISHES
The Music City Brawler is offered in our special thin satin/semi-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes and in custom poly finishes. We offer a wide variety of finish options from occasional checks in warm and inviting natural tones to heavily checked-lightly aged solid colors, as well as gloss finishes and custom metal flake/sparkle finishes.
HARDWARE
Standard tuning machines are nickel Kluson Supreme 18:1 ratio, with many other options available. The bridges are Madtown's own correct nickel plated steel with brass or stainless CNC compensated saddles. Custom Madtown nickel control plates and Skidplates are standard equipment on all Madtown Gravelcaster guitars with custom engraving options available as well.
PICKUPS
The Music City Brawlers are typically loaded with factory direct matched pairs of Lindy Fralin pickups, unless specified. There are several humbucker models and other variants as well. We can do any combination and source any pickup desired.
ELECTRONICS
All Madtown® Guitars are crafted using genuine genuine CTS tight tolerance or Bourns Pro Audio potentiometers, premium capacitors, premium Oak Grigsby selector switches, Electrosockets and Pure Tone jacks. All components are tested and value measured in-house before use.
STRINGS
All Madtown® Guitars are built using DR PURE BLUES Handmade Pure Nickel Strings.
CASES
A custom Madtown® designed G&G Quality Case is limited and available. Other case options and TSA approved ATA flight cases are all available with all Madtown® Guitars.
