The Madtown® RAILRIDER
The finest offering from Madtown® Guitars is the Railrider. An all new modern Droptop variant with a book matched top and configured from a variety of wood species. The Railrider is completely designed from the ground up to be an exceptionally well-built, precision instrument that offers the most in comfort, innovation and style for the modern player.
GENERAL Specifications / BUILD Notes
BODIES
Railriders are crafted with select 1 or 2 piece backs and a two-piece book matched figured top. They are crafted of Black Limba, Mahogany, Alder and Ash. Tops are primarily figured maple with a handful of other species.
NECKS
Necks are crafted from a variety of maples. We use hard eastern maple, birdseye maple, red leaf maple, as well as roasted birdseye or redleaf maple capped with ebony or maple fingerboards fretted with Jescar 47104 0r 57110 nickel silver fret wire. Solid 1/4 inch thick fingerboards have a 10"-16" compound radius and genuine pearl dot inlays. 25.5” scale and Madtown's own custom C profile, measuring .812” at the first fret and .895” at the 12th. Fitted with a handcrafted genuine bone nut measuring 1.750" wide and a spoke style, two-way adjustable truss rod.
FINISHES
The Railrider is offered in both gloss and satin nitrocellulose finishes available in gloss body/satin neck and satin body/satin neck configurations.
HARDWARE
Tuning machines are chrome Gotoh Magnum Locking, staggered post, with 18:1 ratios. The bridge is a chrome Gotoh 510 series, 2 point fulcrum tremolo with oversized high-mass steel block, or chrome Gotoh hardtail string-through bridge. Dunlop chrome strap buttons. The Skidplate® is standard equipment on all Madtown® Guitars.
PICKUPS
The Railriders are loaded with factory matched pairs of Seymour Duncan® Saturday Night Specials. They sit in Madtown's® Original Humbucker Route, an innovative routing that allows the pickup to always be in constant contact with the body while remaining fully adjustable in height.
ELECTRONICS
All Madtown® Guitars are crafted using genuine Bourns Pro Audio potentiometers, premium tone capacitors, premium Oak Grigsby selector switches, and Pure Tone input jacks. All are tested in-house for function and tolerance prior to installation.
STRINGS
All Madtown® Guitars are strung using DR VERITAS VTE- 10 Handmade Quantum Nickel strings, and ship with 2 additional sets.
CASES
Custom Madtown® designed G&G Quality Cases are standard with all Madtown® Guitars. Our G&G Quality cases are built to custom specs using actual full scale mock templates that we made for them to use to ensure proper, snug fit.
